To ensure that members of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) offer the highest standards in workmanship and customer service, all member contractors are rigorously vetted before joining, and every three years thereafter.

A contractor must meet the following criteria:

• A satisfactory trading record, including financial stability
• Inspections of past contracts to verify quality craft skills and technical competence
• Satisfactory public, employers' and third party insurance cover
• Compliance with Health & Safety Legislation
• Compliance with the NFRC Code of Practice; British and European Standards and Codes of Practice; and the TrustMark scheme (for domestic contractors only)

Insured guarantees (TrustMark) are normally given free of charge with new roofs or complete refurbishments; this option is discussed at the outset. TrustMark is the nationwide Government-backed scheme who help consumers find reputable tradesmen to carry out work inside and outside their home. The NFRC is an approved scheme operator for TrustMark and together with the Government and other key bodies work together to stamp out rogue traders in the roofing industry.
